SkillsLink

Markdown → URL → reader

Your text, carried by one portable link.

Read a .md file locally, pack it into compact optionally compressed Base64URL data, open the viewer, and optionally keep the link hierarchy in your private JSON registry.

$ npx @vidigal-code/skillslink@latest generate file.md

Two reading modes

Portable URLs and static repository pages.

Generated links keep the document in the URL and recover it in the browser. Documents committed to this repository also receive pre-rendered HTML and raw-file routes for plain HTTP readers.

Self-contained URL

The versioned URL fragment carries the validated document, so the link can be opened without storing the file on a server or sending its payload in the HTTP request.

Editable viewer

Change the file name or content in the viewer and SkillsLink immediately creates an updated URL for copying.

Static AI route

Repository snapshots are exported as complete HTML and exact raw files, which makes them readable without client-side JavaScript.

Local workflow

From a file to a URL in three steps.

  1. 01

    Choose a file

Use the CLI or browser page with a UTF-8 .md file no larger than 64 KiB.

  2. 02

    Generate and open

SkillsLink validates the source, embeds it in the URL, prints the link, and opens the viewer when the terminal is interactive.

  3. 03

    Register if useful

Confirm the optional prompt to keep the generated link in your user-level JSON registry for listing or removal later.

A small document deserves a simple link.

Run with npx or install globally. The command reads locally and never asks for a GitHub token.
